The orientation/signage concept for the Playhouse is based on the building’s function, geometry and scale of materials.

Each time you encounter a sign in the Playhouse you will find that it is quadratic.

The letters are carried right to the edge of the sign, the letters and their meaning being the central issue. The words are divided and placed at the top and bottom of the sign and thereby create ornamentation. Perhaps one sees the words and concepts of the theatre in a new light.

All lettering and communication is done in white on a black background – like chalk on a blackboard – in order to embrace the dark scale of materials of the Playhouse in the best possible way.
